The lions are out! (funny running and catching game)
Form of organisation: entire group
Materials: none
Description of the game:
this running and catching game is always very popular with children. Initially two students of the class are designated as “lions” who reside on all fours in Savannah (on one side of the hall). All other students are Africa tourists that venture out close to the lions to photograph them e.g., or perhaps even to stroke them.
Once the game leader shouts “the lions are out” , all tourists must get to safety as quickly as possible, by running to the other side of the hall without being caught by the lions. For the next heat, all students who have been caught by the lions, will belong to the group of lions. The game is played until only three tourists are left.
Note: The lions are allowed to run on two legs when catching.
